The Art of Guest Bedroom Design: 5 Features for a Five-Star Feel

When designing a guest bedroom, the goal is to create a welcoming and luxurious space that combines comfort, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Here are 5 must-have features to impress your guests:

Throws & Blankets

Keep your guests comfy and cosy by keeping some throws or blankets in the space. Not only will they add a design touch, they will also add some practicality if they get a little bit cold through the night. We suggest styling them at the foot of the bed, or storing in a basket for guests to use at their perusal.

Mirrors as Statement Pieces

Instead of typical mirrors, choose uniquely shaped or vintage mirrors to add character. Mirrors with sleek frames or geometric designs can make a bold style statement, while reflective surfaces enhance the sense of space and light in the room. Adding backlighting behind the mirrors is another way to make the space feel more premium.

Ample Storage Space

A stylish wardrobe or vintage dresser provides storage space, allowing guests to unpack and feel at home. Include a luggage rack for convenience. Consider built-in shelving or bedside drawers with brass or wood accents for additional storage.

Fresh Towels

To ensure your guests feel right at home, it's great to provide a fresh set of towels. To maximize comfort (and even if you don't use these items yourself), try to include a bath towel, hand towel, face towel and washcloth for each person staying. We've linked a great option below from La Redoute.

Multiple Lighting Options

Ensure there are multiple lighting options beyond the main light, whether that's through providing a bedside table lamp, or a floor lamp. This allows guests to tailor the lighting to their needs - if they want to do some night reading, or if they want to add some ambiance to the space, they will have the flexibility.
