Designing with Intention: Lydia Dinga’s Victorian Bathroom Transformation

We recently had the pleasure of working with Lydia Dinga, home and lifestyle influencer, and her husband Damini, to help reimagine their newly purchased Victorian home.

As part of the wider renovation, we supported the transformation of their family bathroom — a space that balances modern comfort with personality, colour and character. Here’s a look at the process we followed to bring that vision to life.

1. Starting with a Personalised Pinterest Board

We began by creating a tailored Pinterest board to explore ideas and understand Lydia’s aesthetic preferences. She gravitated toward rich, earthy tones like safari green and Parma grey, with a modern style that subtly reflects elements of African heritage.

2. Refining the Vision with Reference Imagery

To develop a clear design direction, we pulled together a set of reference images. These helped define the tone and material choices, shaping a cohesive vision for the space.

3. Establishing the Colour Palette

We developed a custom colour palette to guide the design process, featuring:

This palette provided a grounded, calm base with depth and warmth.

4. Building a Mood Board

With the style and colours aligned, we created a mood board to bring together finishes, textures, and details — helping Lydia and Damini visualise how all the elements would work in harmony.

5. 3D Renders to Bring the Design to Life

To ensure clarity and confidence before final decisions, we produced a series of 3D renders showing layout options, tile choices, and styling concepts. The final direction felt fresh, grounded, and personal.

6. Sourcing Fixtures and Finishes

We concluded the process by supporting the sourcing of tiles, taps, and lighting — ensuring each piece fit both the look and practical needs of the space.
